Thedore DaCabe is the main protagonist of 6 Days a Sacrifice.
Overview
Surveying officer Theo DaCabe is sent to an institution labeled "Optimology" after the Buckinghamshire County Council receives a strange tip off. A man called Mr. Garriot meets the man, and shortly after tricks DaCabe into falling down an empty elevator shaft. The trauma leaves him somewhat crippled for the remainder of his journey.
He wakes up in a small medical facility under the care of Samatha Harty and the watch of a Trilby clone. Eventually the Arrogant Man arrives and kills the Trilby clone but Samatha blocks Theo from seeing this. After getting the second Trilby clone away from a door Theo is placed in a prison cell but is freed by the Caretaker. Sam and Theo try to kidnap Canning (after Theo witnesses the second Trilby clone get killed by the Arrogant Man) and they are sucessful but Canning doesn't answer any of their questions at first. Theo, Sam, and Janine then finally get in the Hub (which Canning says is the way out) Sam exits and she dies. Theo and Janine are so distraught about what's been happening that Janine uses Theo for comfort. Janine is then possessed by John DeFoe and chases Theo throughout the facility and she is eventually killed by the Arrogant Man (we don't known if it was both Janine and John DeFoe or John DeFoe alone or Janine alone). Afterwards Theo is told by the Caretaker that he tainted her and that's what lead her to her own death. Because of this Theo accidentally does the second of the Blessed Agonies which is, 2) the pain of the soul/losing somebody you love. Theo then teams up with the Trilby clones (who, he discovers that are clones built by Dr. Harty after meeting the third Trilby clone who works with Theo). Theo and the Trilbies venture into John DeFoe's mind/house and one by one the Trilbies are killed off by the Arrogant Man. Theo eventually collects all of John DeFoe's belongings and goes into DeFoe's basement which he discovers a bomb that could wipe out a whole county. The Caretaker comes to the last Trilby and tells him to burn down John DeFoe's house which is now his mind. In doing so, the whole Optimology building explodes and that sends Theo to Chzo and Chzo makes Theo the New Prince and Theo strikes down the Arrogant Man. It's unknown what happens to Theo afterwards.
